For physiotherapists

Procedure-specific rehab protocols.

Outcomes after shoulder surgery are made in the rehabilitation clinic. Each of Dr Coory's protocols is written for the treating physiotherapist and delivered with the patient at discharge.

Available protocols.

The following procedure-specific protocols are available for download on request. Each defines the post-operative milestones, range-of-motion limits, strengthening commencement, and return-to-activity criteria.

  • Arthroscopic rotator cuff repair (small / medium / large–massive)
  • Anatomic total shoulder replacement
  • Reverse total shoulder replacement
  • Robotic total shoulder replacement
  • Arthroscopic Bankart repair
  • Latarjet procedure
  • Arthroscopic capsular release (frozen shoulder)
  • Biceps tenodesis
  • Cubital tunnel release
  • Endoscopic carpal tunnel release
  • Distal radius open reduction internal fixation (ORIF)

How to request a protocol.

Email reception@scorthogroup.com.au with the patient's name, the surgical date, and the procedure performed. The current version of the protocol will be returned within one business day. Protocols are also available on the Sunshine Coast Orthopaedic Group physiotherapy portal.

Communication.

Dr Coory will see post-operative patients at standard intervals (1 week, 6 weeks, 3 months, 6 months, 12 months for major procedures). If you have concerns about a patient's progress between reviews — pain that is not settling, stiffness beyond protocol, or any acute change — please contact the rooms directly. We always prefer an early phone call to a delayed problem.

Need a protocol?

One email, one business day.

Send the patient's name, date of surgery and operation performed.
